AN ACT To amend and re-enact Section Five (5) of Act No. 191 of 1910, entitled “An act Abolishing the offices of the Justice of the Peace and Constables in the Third (3) Ward of the Parish of Lafayette, and creating in their stead the City Court of the city of Lafayette consisting of Judge and Marshal and defining their qualifications, powers, jurisdiction and term of office, providing for their salaries and fees, place of office and manner of executing process,’’ due notice in accordance with Article 50 of the Constitution, having been given for thirty days of the intention to apply for the passage of this act.

ACT No. 160. AN ACT To provide for a form of municipal government for cities in the State of Louisiana, having a population of five thousand or over, the City of New Orleans excepted, to be known as the Commission-Manager form, to make provisions for the adoption of the same; to make the violations of certain provisions in same a misdemeanor, and to provide a penalty therefor; to incorporate and re-incorporate municipalities under the form of government herein provided, define boundaries, grant and prescribe municipal power and functions and provide for the administration thereof; and to repeal all laws inconsistent there with.

ACT No. 234. AN ACT Due notice in accordance with Article 50 of the Constitution of Louisiana having been given by publication for thirty days of the intention to apply for the passage of this Act. Abolishing the offices of Justices of the Peace and Constables in the Seventh Ward of the Parish of Tangipahoa, and creating in their stead the City Court of Hammond and the necessary officers of said Court and defining the qualifications, powers and term of office, and the time and manner of election or appointment, jurisdiction of said Court, manner of appeals from said Court, domicile of said Court and method of executing process, and providing their salaries and fees, and pro- viding for the disposition of the fines and penalties assessed and collected by said Court and for the care and use of prisoners awaiting trial and tried and convicted by said Court and to repeal all laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act.

ACT NO. 266. AN ACT To incorporate the Town of Thibodaux, La., in the Parish of Lafourche; to define its boundaries; to provide for the ad- ministration of the affairs thereof; to exempt all persons, all property, real and personal, firms and corporations, within the corporate limits from the payment of parish taxes and licenses, and to repeal all acts inconsistent or in conflict here- with. Satisfactory evidence has been offered proving the publication of notice to introduce this act, as required and provided by Article 50 of the Constitution of this State, and that the Town of Thibodaux has a population exceeding 2,500.
