Over the years, the requirements listed for becoming a member of the Louisiana Bar have changed dramatically, and sometimes often. Members of the bar, the legislature, the law schools, and the Louisiana Supreme Court did not always agree.
This guide will present the changes, both sought and achieved, by various parties to amend the requirements for bar admission. The actual requirements are not always clear. Those listed by the Legislature, and those by the Court, have not always matched up.
