A Brief History of the Louisiana Courts of Appeal: 1913

1913

A constitutional convention was called in 1913. The primary purpose was to make changes concerning the state's bonded debt and the Sewerage and Water Board of the City of New Orleans.

However, two provisions were adopted that enlarged the jurisdiction of the Courts of Appeal, including the removal of the 100 dollar minimum amount requirement. These changes were later held to be invalid, as they were outside the scope of the convention.
