ACT No. 296

AN ACT To amend and reenact Children's Code Articles 612(A) (2), 624(D), (E), (F), and (G), 634(A), 749(A) and (B), 1019(A) and (B), 1122(A) (3), and 1515(B), to enact Children's Code Articles 103.1, 116(6.1) and (6.2), 624(H), 624.1, 661.1, 767.1, 767.2, 1034.1, 1034.2, 1515(A)(8) and (C) and 1518(C), and to provide Comments to Children's Code Article 680, relative to the Indian Child Welfare Act; to provide for the applicability of the Indian Child Welfare Act to provide definitions; to provide for an inquiry; to provide for the standard for determining whether a child is an Indian child; to provide for procedures and effects; and to provide for related matters.

AN ACT To amend and reenact Children's Code Art. 313(B) and RS. 46:236.2, relative to child support proceedings; to provide for changing the payee of a child support order in certain circumstances; to provide relative to the Department of Children and Family Services; to provide for compliance with federal law; to provide certain terms, conditions, and procedures; to provide for an effective date; and to provide for related matters.

AN ACT To amend and reenact Children's Code Article 408, relative to juvenile court proceedings; to provide for the use of restraints upon a determination of necessity; to provide the procedure for such a determination; to provide notice; and to provide for related matters.

AN ACT To amend and reenact Children's Code Art. 804(1) (b), relative to juvenile court jurisdiction; to amend the definition of "child" for purposes of delinquency proceedings; to provide relative to juvenile court jurisdiction over delinquent acts committed by seventeen- year-olds; and to provide for related matters.
