AN ACT
To amend and reenact R.S. 13:477(4) and 621.4, relative to judges; to provide for an additional judgeship for the Fourth Judicial District Court; to provide for the compensation of the additional judge; to provide for the election and terms of the office and those of the successors in office; to provide for election sections for the Fourth Judicial District; and to provide for related matters.
Notice of intention to introduce this Act has been published as provided by Article III, Section 13 of the Constitution of Louisiana.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
Section 1.(A) R.S. 13:477(4) and 621.4 are hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:
§477. Judicial districts
There shall be forty judicial districts in the state, the parish of Orleans excepted, and each district shall be composed as follows:
(4) The parishes of Ouachita and Morehouse shall compose the Fourth District. The Fourth District shall consist of two election sections. Election section one shall consist of Precincts 3-1, 3-2, 3-3, 3-4, 3-5, 3-6, 3-7, 3-8, 3-9, 3-10, 3-11, 3-12, 3-14, 3-15, 3-16, 3-17, 3-18, 10-5, 10-7, 10-8, 10-9, 10-11, 10-12, 10-13, 10-17, and 10-22 of Ouachita Parish. Election section two shall consist of Morehouse Parish and Precincts 1-1, 1-2, 1-3, 1-4, 1-5, 2-1, 2-2, 2-3, 2-4, 3-13, 4-1, 4-2, 5-1, 5-2, 5-3, 5-4, 5-5, 5-6, 5-7, 5-8, 5-9, 5-10, 5-11, 5-12, 5-13, 5-14, 5-15, 5-16, 5-17, 5-18, 5-19, 5-20, 5-21, 6-1, 6-2, 7-1, 8-1, 8-2, 9-1, 10-1, 10-2, 10-3, 10-4, 10-6, 10-10, 10-14, 10-15, 10-16, 10-18, 10-19, 10-20, 10-21, 10-23, and 10-24 of Ouachita Parish.

Section 4. This Act shall become effective on January 1,1996.
