A Brief History of the Orleans Civil District Court: 1876

To define and extend the limits of the Second Judicial District; to fix the terms of court therein; and to define and extend the jurisdiction of the Second Judicial District Court for the Sixth and Seventh Municipal Districts of the parish of Orleans; to provide for a clerk of said court, and his compensation and term of office, and to provide for the drawing of jurors for said court.

To authorize the appointment of shorthand reporters as experts to report testimony in appealable civil causes before the district courts of the parish of Orleans; to authorize the appointment of such experts in other district courts of the State in certain cases; fixing the fees of the said experts, and repealing all laws giving to clerks of courts compensation for testimony taken by such experts.
