Louisiana Supreme Court Justices

The Louisiana Supreme Court was founded in 1813, and since then, 118 justices have served on the bench. Out of those 118 justices, 4 have been African American and 4 have been women. Twenty-six of our justices have been elevated to chief justices, which included two female chiefs, one of whom was an African American chief justice.
