Louisiana Criminal Code of 1942: Updates

Changes after 1942

The Criminal Code was not set in stone; it was regularly updated by the legislature* in response to changing times and decisions of the Louisiana Supreme Court. Articles were updated, added, and repealed.

The Criminal Code was incorporated into the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950. After that, it was updated just like the rest of the revised statutes.

Hardbound volumes and pocket parts

Some people believe that West publishes a complete set of the Green Books every year. This is not the case. Publishing a complete set would be prohibitively expensive. Libraries could not afford to buy a complete new hardbound set every year. Instead, West publishes a paper pamphlet for each volume every year, which contains all of the legislative and judicial updates. These are called pocket parts, and are inserted at the back of the hardbound volume.
