A Brief History of the Louisiana Juvenile Courts: 1938

1938

Act No. 198 amended Section 52 of the 1921 Constitution. In wards where there are City Courts, the judge of the City Court shall be the ex-officio judge of the Juvenile Court.

Act No. 390 amended Section 96 of the 1921 Constitution, by providing for appeals in matters of adoption directly to the Supreme Court. It also changed the jurisdiction of the court by including the adoption of children under the age of seventeen.
