These include referrals to lawyers, organizations or people that offer pro bono work, and workshops that provide legal help to immigrants. You can find other helpful organizations that don't specialize in legal advice under the Resources for the Public tab.
American Immigration Lawyers Association: Find an Immigration Lawyer (AILA) This page maintains a database of immigration-specialized attorneys in each state. If you want to hire a lawyer who can help you with your problem, here you can find several.
Immigration Services & Legal Advocacy (ISLA): an organization with attorneys who visit immigrants detained in the eleven ICE Processing Centers in the region each week and provide pro bono representation before the Immigration Courts.
List of Pro Bono Legal Service Providers of the US Department of Justice, which aggregates all organizations in Louisiana that offer pro bono legal services or advice for immigration matters.
Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans (CCANO): Visit their website or call (504) 310-6938 to learn about the services and workshops they offer for immigrants--they offer many, including opportunities to receive legal advice and classes to learn English as a second language.
Immigration Advocates Network: Directory of organizations assisting immigrants.
Louisiana Organization for Refugees and Immigrants (LORI): help with various aspects of the process of starting to live in the United States, especially pursuing naturalization and citizenship, and learning English.
National Immigration Project: maintains a list of associated lawyers who represent clients for immigration-related issues. NOTE: their network does not currently include any lawyers who represent clients in Louisiana.
