1828 Act NO. 51. AN ACT To incorporate a Law Library Society in the city of N. Orleans.

Sec. 3. Be it further enacted, etc. That the salary of six hundred dollars, heretofore allowed to the State Librarian, be and the same is hereby abolished; and that hereafter the State Library shall be kept under the general supervision of the Secretary of State by such person and in such manner as he may direct, without additional expense to the State.

The publisher shall deliver to the reporter one hundred copies, which the reporter shall retain in his hands for the following disposition: He shall deposit one copy in the Law Library of New Orleans, one in the same Library of the Supreme Court, and five copies in the State Library.

1942 Ex. Sess. ACT No. 297. AN ACT To reorganize the public law libraries, supported by the State of Louisiana, known as the Huey P. Long Memorial Library, presently located in the State Capitol Building in the City of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and the Louisiana State Library, presently located in the Civil Courts Building in the City of New Orleans, Louisiana; providing that the said Huey P. Long Memorial Library, presently located in the State Capitol Building in the City of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, shall continue to be known as the Huey P. Long Memorial Library in its present location; approving the resolution of the Board of Liquidation of the State Debt dated June 14, 1937, purchasing the library of the late Senator Huey P. Long from Mrs. Huey P. Long for the sum of Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000.00), and the acceptance by Mrs. Huey P. Long of the payment therefor, and appropriating the sum of Two Thousand Dollars ($2,000.00) additional provided in the said resolution for the maintenance of said library; providing that the Louisiana State Library, presently located in the Civil Courts Building in the City of New Orleans, Louisiana, shall be continued to be known as the Louisiana State Library and shall be continued in its present location; providing for the appointment of librarians, assistant librarians and other necessary personnel in the said libraries and for the making of rules and regulations for the proper conduct of said libraries; placing the said libraries in the Department of Justice and under the control, direction and supervision of the Attorney General of the State of Louisiana; providing for salaries of librarians, assistant librarians and other personnel, and other necessary expenses; and repealing all laws or parts of laws in conflict herewith.

1946 ACT No. 103. AN ACT To amend and re-enact Sections 1 and 3 of Act 297 of 1942 relative to the reorganization of public law libraries.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana, That Section 1 of Act 297 of 1942 be amended and re- enacted so as to read as follows:
Section 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana, That the Huey P. Long Memorial Library, presently located in the State Capitol Building in the City of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and the Louisiana State Library, presently located in the New Court House Building in the City of New Orleans, Louisiana, are hereby reorganized. The said Huey P. Long Memorial Library shall continue to be known as such, but the Louisiana State Library shall hereafter be known as as the the Law Library of Louisiana.
1972 Act No. 683 AN ACT To repeal Sections 92 and 93 of Title 25 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, relative to the Law Library Advisory Commission to abolish said commission.
