If you do not know which resource to use, you can call the Law Library at 504-310-2400 or toll-free in Louisiana at 800-820-3038 or email us at library@lasc.org.
If you want to hire a lawyer, the Louisiana State Bar Association can help you find one. Some lawyers who work for lower fees are listed in their "Modest Means Directory."
If you can't afford a lawyer, you may qualify for free civil legal aid - apply online.
You may also qualify for free legal advice online. At LA.FreeLegalAnswers.org, Louisiana lawyers volunteer to answer questions online. Only civil legal questions (no criminal) and you must income-qualify.
The Legal Education and Assistance Program (LEAP) provides referrals and forms by parish. Check their website for more information.
