ACT No. 794 A JOINT RESOLUTION
Proposing a revision of Article VIII of the Constitution of Louisiana, relative to elections, to provide for the qualifications and registration of voters and the remedy for denial of registration, to provide for party conventions and the selection of delegates; to authorize the legislature to provide for the prosecution of offenses against registration and election laws; to provide for disqualifications for voting and holding office; to provide for the conduct of elections and the contests thereof; to provide for registrars of voters; to provide with respect to corrupt practices related to elections and to authorize the legislature to adopt a comprehensive election code regulating all aspects of elections, including but not limited to registration of voters, kinds of elections and nominating procedures, method of electing public officers and filling vacancies in public offices, candidates and candidacy and the conduct of elections and the contest thereof and to provide with respect to all matters related thereto; to authorize the legislature to enact laws related to elections and to repeal Sections 16 through 23, inclusive, of said Article VIII of the Constitution.
