1977 Act No. 136

AN ACT To amend and reenact Subsection C of Section 109 of Title 56 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, relative to the protection of wild birds or wild quadrupeds on wildlife management areas, to provide that such protection shall also apply to wildlife refuges.

1977 Act No. 171

AN ACT To amend and reenact Paragraph (7) of Section 124 of Title 56 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950 relative to raccoon and opossum hunting, to provide for bag limits, to prohibit hunting from boats or vehicles, to require a trapper's license to sell or pelt, to provide exceptions, and otherwise to provide with respect thereto.

AN ACT To amend Section 101 of Title 56 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950 by adding two new Paragraphs to be designated as Paragraphs (23) and (24) relative to definitions for the words “Falconry” and “Raptor”, and to amend and reenact Subsections B and C of Section 123 of Title 56 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, to provide for falconry as an approved method of taking game and to provide rules and regulations relative thereto.

AN ACT To amend and reenact the provisions of Section 402 of Title 14 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950 relative to the miscellaneous crime of taking contraband to or from correctional institutions and the penalty therefor so as to include all parish prisons and to provide further with respect to the definition of contraband at State Adult or Juvenile correctional institutions, and to provide relative to the penalty for its unauthorized introduction into, possession at, or removal from State Adult or Juvenile correctional institutions, and otherwise to provide with respect thereto.

AN ACT To amend and reenact Subparagraphs (b) and (c) of Paragraph (18) of Section 101, Section 140, Subsection A of Section 141, and Subsection B of Section 257, of Title 56 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, relative to foxes, to provide that foxes shall be a protected quadruped; to make it unlawful to trap or kill foxes except in specific circumstances; to provide that hunters, dog handlers and dog trainers may run foxes to train their dogs; to prohibit the killing or taking of foxes during such training sessions; to provide otherwise both generally and specifically with respect thereto.

AN ACT To amend and reenact Paragraph (3) of Section 1781 of Title 40 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, to redefine the term firearm, and to provide with respect thereto.

1977 Act No. 622

AN ACT To amend Title 14 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950 by adding thereto a new Section, to be designated as Section 95.2 relative to crimes attempted or committed by persons using any firearm or explosive device, to provide that such persons convicted of the perpetration or attempted perpetration of second degree murder, manslaughter, aggravated battery, simple kidnapping, aggravated escape, aggravated burglary, or aggravated arson or attempted aggravated rape, attempted first degree murder or attempted aggravated kidnapping shall serve an additional sentence of two years for the first offense and five years for each second and subsequent offense, without benefit of parole, probation, suspension of sentence or credit for good time, to provide that adjudication of guilt or imposition of sentence shall not be suspended, and otherwise to provide with respect thereto.
