Act No. 8 of 1990 increased the number of judges to nine.

In Act No. 1098, a joint resolution, the Legislature proposed amending the 1974 Constitution.

 

A JOINT RESOLUTION
Proposing to amend Article V, Sections 10(A) and (B) and 16(A), of the Constitution of Louisiana, relative to court jurisdiction, to permit direct review of administrative agency determinations by the courts of appeal in worker's compensation matters when provided for by law; and to specify an election date for submission of the proposition to electors and provide a ballot proposition.

 

The voters ratified the amendment on October 6, 1990.
