In 1940, Act 55 repealed Act 10 of the Second Extraordinary Session of the Legislature of 1934. The public corporation known as "The State Bar of Louisiana" was dissolved. In its place, pursuant to Act 54, the Supreme Court of Louisiana created the Louisiana State Bar Association.
