No. 99.]  AN ACT To establish the fees, costs, and charges of the Civil Sheriff in and for the city of New Órleans, parish of Orleans, and to authorize the said officer to demand surety and payment for his costs and charges, and to exempt the city of New Orleans from all liability for sheriff fees in cases in which the city of New Orleans sues for any tax or other dues levied in course of law and in which judgment was rendered in favor of the city of New Orleans, expenses incurred by the Sheriff  caused in carrying out instructions of the proper officers of the city excepted.

I do certify that this is a true and correct copy of an Act passed by the General Assembly during the regular session of eighteen hundred and seventy-six, and was signed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, and by the Lieutenant Governor and President of the Senate, and was by me delivered to the Governor on the eleventh day of March, eighteen hundred and seventy-six, and that the Act has not been returned to the House of Representatives, either with the approval of the Governor or his objections thereto. No. 101.] AN ACT To repeal Act No. 155, approved July twenty-four, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-four, to provide for the appointment of registrars of Voters and clerks of registration throughout the State: to fix their compensation and define their powers and duties; to provide for keeping a registry of legal voters; to define the duties of certain officers; to prescribe penalties for violations of the provisions of this Act, and to provide for a new registration of voters throughout the State.
