ACT No. 85 AN ACT To amend and re-enact Section 961.1 of Title 13 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, relative to the authority of federal and state district court reporters to administer oaths, to authorize state district court reporters in the parish of Orleans to administer oaths.

ACT No. 244 AN ACT To authorize the Louisiana Wild Life and Fisheries Commission, through the Register of the State Land Office, to exchange certain timber lands for privately owned lands of equal value.

ACT No. 252  AN ACT To amend and re-enact Paragraph 3 of Subsection A and Sub- sections B and C of Section 4819 of Title 9 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, relative to the priority of liens on buildings under construction, reconstruction or repair, to provide for the filing of an affidavit by an architect, licensed civil engineer or registered land surveyor to indicate that "no work has begun" within the meaning of the Section; to provide that services performed by an architect, civil engineer or registered land surveyor shall not be termed "work" within the meaning of the Section; to provide that any architect, civil engineer or registered land surveyor shall be liable for wilfully or negligently filing a false affidavit or failing to file an affidavit when required to.

ACT No. 440  AN ACT To amend and re-enact Chapter 5, Title 35, Section 323 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950 to provide for the duties of the Custodian of Notarial Records in and for the Parish of Orleans; to provide for the fees to be charged by the office of the Custodian of Notarial Records.

ACT No. 459  AN ACT To amend Title 13 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950 by adding thereto a new Section, to be designated as Section 963 thereof, to provide for the appointment of a court reporter for the judge of the thirteenth judicial district court and otherwise to provide with respect there- to.

ACT No. 477  AN ACT To authorize the City of New Orleans, having first acquired certain property, to grant an option thereon and to ultimately lease the site and the building to be erected thereon in the area known as the Cultural Center of the City of New Orleans.

ACT No. 528  AN ACT To amend and re-enact Section 4085 of Title 33 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, relative to construction work and the letting of contracts by the Sewerage and Water Board of the City of New Orleans, by adding a requirement that the contract shall be let to the lowest responsible and qualified bidder; increasing the bond for faithful performance to not less than one-half of the amount of the contract; providing that on all work involving the employment of mechanics and laborers the specifications shall contain a provision stating that the minimum wages to be paid the various classes of laborers and mechanics shall be as determined by the U.S. Secretary of the Department of Labor; and by providing further that bidders shall attach to bids a bid bond or a certified check for five (5%) per cent of the estimated price of the contract.

ACT No. 558   AN ACT To amend and re-enact Section 1513 of Title 47 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, relative to the power of the collector of revenue to administer oaths, to provide that forms, affidavits or oaths required by the department in connection with the issuance of motor vehicle license plates may be signed before any revenue deputy or notary public at the option of the person applying for said license plate.

ACT No. 559  AN ACT To amend Title 35 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950 by adding thereto a new Section to be designated as R.S. 35:622.1, relative to notaries public, to provide with respect to the appointment and qualifications of notaries public in and for the parish of Webster by establishing certain exemptions therefrom; to require persons exempted from said qualifications to meet the other qualifications and requirements established by law, and otherwise to provide with respect thereto.

ACT No. 633   AN ACT To amend Title 35 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950 by adding thereto a new Section to be designated as R. S. 35:14, relative to notaries public, to allow Louisiana attorneys to obtain notarial commissions in parishes other than their parish of residence; to establish the manner and parishes wherein such commissions may be obtained; to require the posting of bond; to require compliance with other provisions established by law, and to provide otherwise with respect thereto.
