ACT No. 106  AN ACT To amend and reenact Sections 2886 and 2887 of the Louisiana Code of Civil Procedure relative to the probate of nuncupative testaments by private act, mystic testaments, and statutory wills; to provide that if the notary and all witnesses are incapacitated, such testaments may be probated by witnesses who recognize the signature of one of the witnesses to the will or of the testator or notary; and otherwise to provide with respect thereto.

ACT No. 137  AN ACT To amend and reenact Subsection A of Section 304 of Title 47 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, to amend Section 301 of said Title by adding thereto a new Paragraph, to be designated as Paragraph (17) thereof, and to amend Section 303 of said Title by adding thereto a new Subsection, to be designated Subsection E thereof, all relative to the imposition and collection of sales taxes on off-road vehicles, to define the term "off-road vehicle"; to prohibit the issuance of a vehicle title until proof of the payment of applicable sales taxes has been submitted; to provide for the collection of the sales tax by the dealer selling the off-road vehicle, and otherwise to provide with respect thereto.

ACT No. 224  AN ACT To amend Section 191 of Title 35 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950 by adding thereto a new Subsection, to be designated Subsection G thereof, relative to the appointment of notaries public, to authorize any person appointed as a notary public in any of the parishes of Bienville, Caldwell, Franklin, Lincoln, Morehouse, Ouachita, Jackson, Richland, or Union to exercise the functions of a notary public in any of these parishes.

ACT 240  AN ACT To amend and reenact Section 9 of Title 35 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950 relative to notaries public, to provide with respect to foreign notaries public, the execution of authentic acts and otherwise to provide with respect thereto.

ACT No. 245  AN ACT To amend Section 191 of Title 35 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950 by adding thereto a new Subsection, to be designated Subsection G thereof, relative to the appointment of notaries public, to authorize any person appointed as a notary public in either the parishes of Caddo or Bossier to exercise the functions of a notary public in any of these parishes.

ACT No. 284  AN ACT To authorize the state of Louisiana, through the office of the governor, to donate certain property in the parish of St. Tammany to the city of Slidell, and otherwise to provide with respect thereto.

ACT No. 302  AN ACT To amend and reenact Subsection B of Section 2476 of Title 33 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, to provide with respect to the ineligibility of persons for appointment or service as a member of the Municipal Fire and Police Civil Service Board of the city of Houma, by authorizing such a person to hold a position of public employment, and otherwise to provide with respect thereto.

ACT No. 320  AN ACT To amend and reenact Section 5 of Title 35 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950 relative to foreign notaries public, to provide for the effect to be given oaths, acts, and acknowledgements of said foreign notaries in this state and otherwise to provide with respect thereto.

ACT No. 328  AN ACT To authorize and empower the Department of Health and Human Resources to sell or transfer title to certain described property, together with all buildings and improvements thereon, located in the city of New Orleans and to provide that funds received from such sale or transfer shall be placed in a special fund with the office of the state treasurer and shall be available to defray the construction costs of an office building in St. Bernard Parish.

ACT No. 443  AN ACT To amend Part V of Chapter 4 of Title 13 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950 by adding thereto a new Section, to be designated as Section 980 thereof, relative to court reporters, to provide for the appointment of court reporters in the Thirty-Fourth Judicial District Court; to provide for their oath of office and furnishing of bond, their duties and responsibilities, their fees, the furnishing of office space and equipment and expenses, their salaries and collection of fees to be deposited in the Judicial Court Reporter's Fund, the appointment of assistant reporters, and otherwise to provide with respect thereto.

ACT No. 569  AN ACT To amend and reenact Sections 131 and 137 of Title 44 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, relative to the duties of the clerks of court of the various parishes, except Orleans, to preserve records and notarial acts, to authorize the use of photographic methods of recording; to provide for appropriate storage of photographic records; and to amend the Louisiana Civil Code by adding thereto a new Article, to be designated Article 3385.1, to provide an alternative method of erasure, cancellation, or partial release of mortgages, privileges, or liens by recordation of authentic acts referenced to the proofs of cancellation or release; to authorize a clerk of court to require use of the alternative method, and to provide with respect to related matters.

ACT No. 694  AN ACT To amend and reenact Sections 3512, 3514, Subsection E of Section 3515, Sub-subparagraph (v) of Subparagraph (b) of Paragraph (3), and Paragraphs (7), (10), (11), (13), (20), (22), and (27) of Section 3516, Subsection E of Section 3519, Section 3521, 3522, Subsections A and C of Section 3525, Subsections A and C of Section 3542, Section 3548, and Subsections A and D of Section 3564 of Title 9 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950; to further amend said Title 9 by adding thereto a new Section, to be designated as Section 3550 thereof; and to repeal Sections 3532 and 3537 of said Title 9, all relative to a consumer credit transaction, to expand the credit law to allow parties to a transaction other than a consumer credit transaction to contract with one another, so that such transaction shall be subject to the provisions of this law, to provide that in such event the transaction shall be a consumer credit transaction, notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, to provide that certain definitions are expanded to incorporate these provisions, to provide for increases in minimum loan finance charges and maximum delinquency charges, to provide with respect to insurance premium financing, and to provide otherwise with respect thereto.

ACT No. 744  AN ACT To amend and reenact Sections 2442 and 2443 of Title 9 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950 relative to the statutory will; to amend Title 9 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950 by adding thereto Sections 2444 and 2445; to provide the requirements for the execution of a statutory will; to provide the means by which persons with certain inabilities may execute a statutory will; to provide for the qualifications of witnesses; to provide that a statutory will, executed prior to the effective date of this Act, and valid when executed, is not invalidated by the passage of this Act; and otherwise to provide with respect thereto.
