ACT No. 485 AN ACT To amend and reenact Part IV of Chapter 6 of Title 56 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, comprised of R.S. 56:1761 through R.S. 56:1766, and to repeal R.S. 36:209(M), Act No. 756 of the 1981 Regular Session, and Act No. 352 of the 1982 Regular Session, all relative to Audubon Park, to abolish the Audubon Park Commission for the city of New Orleans and to create the Audubon Park Commission as a political subdivision of the state; to provide that the new commission shall have supervision and control of the park as a natural resource; to provide for its composition, powers, and duties; to define the area of the park; to authorize the commission to contract in a cooperative endeavor for the care, control, and management of the park and its zoo, including facilities in the park, and to provide with respect to such contracts; to transfer functions, powers, authority, obligations, property, and employees of the former commission to the new commission; to provide penalties for violation of certain regulations of the commission, to provide with respect to funding for the park; and otherwise to provide with respect thereto.
