Act 9 AN ACT To authorize the governor and the commissioner of the Division of Administration, on behalf of the state of Louisiana, to sell, lease, or otherwise dispose of or repair and renovate certain described property in the parish of Orleans, designated as No. 14 Audubon Boulevard, together with any furnishings therein; to provide the effective date of the Act, and otherwise to provide with respect thereto

ACT No. 170  AN ACT To revise Book II of the Louisiana Civil Code by repealing Title V, fixing limits and surveying lands, containing Articles 823 through 855, and by substituting therefor a new Title V, Building Restrictions, containing Articles 775 through 783; to provide that the article headnotes, the expose des motifs and the comments included in this Act are not to be considered as part of the proposed law; to repeal all laws in conflict with the provisions of this Act; to provide for the severability of provisions of this Act; to provide the effective date of this Act; and to provide for the applicability of this Act; and to repeal Section 5622 of Title 9 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950.

ACT No. 226  AN ACT To amend and reenact Section 5136 of Title 9 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, relative to conventional mortgages, to provide that the parties to a mortgage may not name a keeper other than the owner if the owner is occupying the mortgaged property as his home and if the property consists of not more than four dwelling units.

ACT No. 354  AN ACT To amend and reenact Section 2 of Title 35 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, relative to powers of notaries public, to provide that any notary public shall have authority to administer oaths to parties appearing before such notary in any parish of the state for the taking or execution of depositions, interrogatories and statements to be used in courts of record of this state, to provide that such oaths and the certificates issued for such notaries shall have legal efficacy, including legal efficacy for purposes of the laws on perjury; and otherwise to provide with respect thereto.

ACT No. 451  AN ACT To amend and reenact Sections 1, 191, 192, 193, 194, 197, and 198, all of Title 35 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950; to amend and reenact the title of Chapter 4 of said Title; to amend said Title by adding thereto several Sections, to be designated as Sections 1.1, 200, and 201 thereof; to repeal Section 197 of said Title; to repeal Part I of Chapter 5, consisting of Sections 251 through 257; and to repeal Chapters 6, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, and 14, all of Title 35 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, relative to notaries public; to provide for the uniform qualifications and appointment of notaries public; to authorize any person validly appointed as a notary public in and for the parish of Orleans, the parish of St. Bernard, or the parish of Jefferson to act as notary public in any of said parishes, and otherwise to provide with respect thereto; to provide that any person validly appointed notary public in or for any parish who changes his residence to another parish shall upon certain conditions be commissioned and may exercise the functions of notary public in the parish of his new residence without an examination and without advice and consent of the Senate.

ACT No. 461 AN ACT To amend and reenact Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, and 9 of Title 5 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, and to repeal Sections 10, 14, 16, 19 and 303 of said Title, relative to auctions and auctioneers, to provide with respect to the licensing and regulation of resident and nonresident auctioneers; to define terms; to provide for compensation of auctioneer; to provide for exempt transactions; to provide with respect to execution of a bond, exceptions to the bonding requirement, applications for licenses, license fees, issuance, denial, suspension, and revocations of licenses, to provide for a nonresident's consent to commencement of any cause of action in a proper court and the designation of the secretary of state as agent for service of process; to provide for reciprocity, rules and regulations, hearings, applicability of the Administrative Procedures Act; to provide with respect to advertisements of auctioneers, investigation of violations and penalties; to provide for the authority of the secretary of state, and for the effectiveness of the Act; and to provide generally and specifically with respect to the foregoing.

Act 465  AN ACT To amend Title 35 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950 by adding thereto a new Section, to be designated as Section 15, to authorize the governor to appoint certain executive officers of each troop headquarters and investigators of the internal affairs unit of the office of state police as ex officio notaries public with limited notarial powers, to provide for bonding of said notaries, to require the department of public safety to pay costs incurred for such commissions, and otherwise to provide with respect thereto.

ACT No. 470  AN ACT To amend and reenact Subsection B of Section 2476 of Title 33 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, relative to the qualifications of persons who serve on municipal fire and police civil service boards, to provide that in the city of Houma, the person representing the fire department need not be a resident and qualified voter of the municipality but only a resident of the parish of Terrebonne for a least five years next preceding the time of his appointment.

ACT No. 483  AN ACT To amend and reenact Articles 155 and 159 of the Louisiana Civil Code, to provide that dissolution of the community of acquets and gains by a judgment of separation from bed and board or of divorce is retroactive to the date of filing of original petition, and otherwise to provide with respect thereto.

ACT No. 639  AN ACT To amend and reenact Sections 210 and 217 of Title 30 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950 relative to the issuance of permits to prospect on highway rights of way, and on other lands subject to rights of way, easements or servitudes granted for purposes other than highway use, to provide requirements for written consent of certain property owners as a condition precedent to the issuance of such permits, to provide for injunctive relief and attorneys' fees in the event of violations of the requirements contained in Section 210, as amended, to increase penalties for violations in Section 217, and otherwise to provide with respect thereto.
