ACT No. 96. AN ACT To provide a Police Pension Fund for the Police Department of the City of New Orleans; creating a Board of Trustees of the Police Pension Fund for the City of New Orleans for the administration, management, control and operation of said Fund; providing for the pensioning of the officers, members and employees of the Police Department in the City of New Orleans, their widows, children and widowed mothers; providing for retirement from service and for payment of benefits; providing for the assumption of obligations of all pensions . . .

ACT No. 125. AN ACT To amend and re-enact Section 6 of Act No. 42 of the General Assembly of the State of Louisiana, for the year 1890, as amended and re-enacted by Act 138 of 1896, as amended and re-enacted by Act No. 187 of 1902, entitled: "An Act relative to the Notaries Public for the Parish of Orleans, and regulating their appointment, bond, qualifications, duties and operations, providing for the testing of said bonds and prescribing certain penalties"; and to repeal all laws in conflict herewith.

AN ACT Providing for voluntary surrender for the purpose of adoption of a child under seventeen (17) years of age born in or out of wedlock; for procedure for declaring a child abandoned; for appointment of a legal custodian; for the placement of children for adoption; for the repeal of existing laws.

ACT No. 301. AN ACT To amend and re-enact Sections 21, 23 and 24 of Act 6 of the Extra Session of 1899, as amended, by Act 111 of 1902, as amended by Act 230 of 1936 and as amended by Act 140 of 1940, entitled: "An Act to make effective the vote and levy of the special tax by the property taxpayers of the City of New Orleans for water, sewerage and drainage purposes; by authorizing the capitalization of said tax by the issuance of fifty-year bonds of the City of New Orleans under certain conditions and with certain privileges and restrictions, providing for the payment of the principal and interest thereof, for the disposition of the said bonds and the proceeds thereof, and defining the powers and duties of the Board of Liquidation with reference thereto; by constituting and establishing a Sewerage and Water Board for the City . . .

ACT No. 362. AN ACT Authorizing the Director of Highways to designate three employees of the Department of Highways, each of whom when so designated shall-be ex-officio a Notary Public and shall have authority, without charge or other compensation, to administer oaths, take acknowledgments, and perform all other duties which any Notary Public is now authorized by law to do, but limiting his official action to acts and instruments to which the Department of Highways or the Director of Highways is a party and to the administration of oaths to affidavits and other documents concerning any matter in which the Department of Highways is interested, and continuing the director's authority should there be a vacancy in any of said offices.

ACT No. 468. An ACT Relative to Notaries Public for the Parish of Caddo and regulating their appointment, bond, qualifications and suspension; providing for the testing of sureties of said bond; providing for termination of commissions as Notaries Public and provide for prescription of action against Surety, and to repeal all laws inconsistent or in conflict herewith.

ACT No. 2. AN ACT To amend Sections 50, 51 and 56 of Act No. 224 of 1940, entitled "An Act to preserve the purity of the ballot, regulating the manner of holding and conducting elections, by providing an official form of ballot, by prescribing the time and method in which nominations shall be made and certified, by providing for the division of parishes, cities and towns into convenient election precincts; by providing for the appointment of officers to conduct such elections and defining their duties; by prescribing the manner in which the votes of electors shall be taken; and the count and returns thereof made; . . .

ACT No. 13. AN ACT Creating the Louisiana Merit System Council and provid ing for the State of Louisiana a system of personnel administration based on merit principles and scientific methods governing the employees of State agencies administering federal funds which by federal law, rules or regulations are required to operate under personnel standards on a merit basis.
