ACT No. 84 AN ACT To amend and reenact Section 236.1 of Title 46 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950 relative to family and child support programs, to provide for an automatic assignment of support rights by an applicant for aid to families with dependent children; to provide for civilly enforceable child support agreements; to provide for designation of support enforcement officers as proper persons to institute certain proceedings under R.S. 14:74;to pro- vide for non cancellation of child support arrearages accrued and owing to the state; to provide for fees and applications in child support services performed for non welfare recipients; to provide for deduction of fees prior to distribution of child support collected; to provide that support orders may be made payable to the Department of Health and Human Resources in non welfare support cases; to provide that the department may not supervise or provide services to a non welfare support case until an application and fee are received; to provide for proper designation of child support personnel and the powers of such personnel; and to otherwise provide with respect thereto.

ACT No. 184 AN ACT To amend and reenact Subsection B of Section 2476 of Title 33 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950 relative to municipal fire and police civil service boards; to provide that the members of such boards elected from the municipal fire and police departments may be residents of the parish wherein the municipality in which they are to serve is located for a period of at least five years next preceding their appointment upon adoption of resolution so permitting residence location by the local governing authority.

ACT No. 519 AN ACT To amend and reenact Subsection B of Section 710 of Title 32 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, relative to chattel mortgages on motor vehicles to provide that when a chattel mortgage is not received by the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles within fifteen days from the date of execution and a receipt for such chattel mortgage has not been validated by the office of the commissioner, such chattel mortgage shall be effective as to all persons from the date it is delivered to the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles.

Act 785 AN ACT To amend Section 191 of Title 35 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950 by adding thereto a new Subsection to be designated as R.S. 35:191 F, relative to the appointment of notaries public, to provide that any person appointed in any of the parishes of Tangipahoa, Livingston or St. Helena is authorized to exercise the functions of a notary public in the three parishes. Notice of intention to introduce this Act has been published as provided by Article III, Section 13 of the constitution of Louisiana.
