ACT No. 118  AN ACT To amend Section 191 of Title 35 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, by adding thereto a new Subsection, to be designated as Subsection I thereof, to authorize a notary public appointed in the parish of Catahoula or Concordia to perform notarial functions in both parishes, and otherwise to provide with respect thereto.

ACT No. 204  AN ACT To amend Section 191 of Title 35 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950 by adding thereto a new Subsection, to be designated as Subsection I, to provide that any person who is a validly appointed notary public in and for either the parishes of Iberia or St. Mary is authorized and deemed eligible and qualified to exercise any and all of the functions of a notary public in the parishes of Iberia and St. Mary.

ACT No. 274  AN ACT To create and provide for a system of civil service with respect to the municipal employees of the city of Jeanerette, except the fire department thereof; to create and provide for the organization, powers, functions, and duties of the Municipal Employees Civil Service Board of the city of Jeanerette and the director of personnel; to provide penalties for violations of this Act or any rule, regulation, or order issued hereunder; to provide with regard to matters pertaining to said civil service system; to provide for the effect of general statutes affecting municipal employees or municipal departments in matters of classified civil service for the city of Jeanerette; and to repeal Act 414 of the 1966 Regular Session with respect to a system of civil service for the municipal employees of the city of Jeanerette; and otherwise to provide with respect thereto.

ACT No. 313  AN ACT To amend and reenact Section 5 of Title 35 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950 relative to documents executed by or before foreign notaries, to delete the requirement that such documents be certified under the hand and seal of the notary, and otherwise to provide with respect thereto.

ACT No. 357  AN ACT To amend and reenact Section 841 of Title 13 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, to provide for fees of clerks of the district courts, to provide for a separate fee schedule for the clerk of court in the parish of Calcasieu, Orleans Parish excepted, to increase certain fees, and to otherwise provide with respect thereto.

ACT No. 406  AN ACT To amend and reenact Subsection A of Section 2 of Title 35 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950 relative to the general powers of a notary public; to authorize a notary public to receive a will in which he is named administrator, executor, trustee, or attorney for the administrator, for the executor, for a legatee or heir, or for the estate; to provide that this Act is remedial and that wills received in conformity with this Act are legal; and otherwise to provide with respect thereto.

ACT No. 465  AN ACT To authorize the secretary of the Department of Transportation and Development to sell, donate, lease, exchange, or otherwise convey the land and the buildings thereon heretofore purchased by the state for a highway unit to the town of Grand Isle, subject to the approval by the governor and subject to restrictions with respect to mineral rights and exploration and production of minerals, and otherwise to provide with respect thereto.

ACT No. 668  AN ACT To amend and reenact Paragraphs (3), (4), (5) and (6) of Section 2151, Subparagraph (a) of Paragraph (1) of Subsection A of Section 2152, Subsection B of Section 2153, Subsection B of Section 2154, Section 2156, Paragraphs (a) and (b) of Section 2156.1, Subsections A and D of Section 2157, Section 2160, and Subsection A of Section 2163, all of Title 37 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, and to amend Section 2162 of said Title 37 by adding thereto a new Paragraph, to be designated as Paragraph (6) thereof, all relative to the state licensing board for contractors; to change qualifications for membership to the board; to delete the grandfather clause for licensing; to change compensation for members; to change application requirements to increase the number of references for licensing requirements, to increase the amount for financial responsibility and worth, and to include federal employer identification number; to redefine contractor to delete the provision permitting certain architectural and engineering services; to increase the powers of the board to penalize violation; to define a properly licensed contractor; to provide procedures at public bid openings; and otherwise to provide with respect thereto.

ACT No. 791  AN ACT To amend and reenact Subsection D and Subsection F of Section 1299.41 of Title 40 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, and Subsections A and C of Section 1299.47 of said Title 40, relative to medical malpractice; to provide with respect to the suspension of time within which suit must be instituted against a health care provider who has not qualified under the provisions relative to a review of such a claim by medical malpractice review panels; to provide with respect to the length of such suspension; to provide for the methods of selection of members of medical review panels and for a schedule for submission of evidence; to provide for an effective date, and otherwise to provide with respect thereto.

ACT No. 803  AN ACT To amend and reenact Section 75 and Subsection C of Section 79 of Title 40 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, relative to the issuance of new birth certificates to persons born in foreign countries who are adopted in Louisiana, to provide a procedure for the issuance of a new birth certificate for a person born in a foreign country whose foreign birth certificate is available, and otherwise to provide with respect thereto.
