ACT No. 18 AN ACT To amend and reenact Sections 60.1 and 60.2 of Title 17 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, relative to the Jefferson Parish School Board, to provide for the membership and terms of office thereof, the composition of the districts thereof and the apportionment of members thereto, and for the election of said members and otherwise to provide with respect thereto.

ACT No. 92  AN ACT To amend the Revised Statutes of 1950 by adding thereto a new Title 10 entitled Commercial Laws, relating to commercial paper and certain commercial transactions, contracts and other documents concerning them, containing Chapter 1, General Provisions; Chapter 3, Commercial Paper; Chapter 4, Bank Deposits and Collections; Chapter 5, Letters of Credit; to regulate procedure, evidence and damages in certain court actions involving such transactions, contracts or documents, to promote uniformity of the law with respect thereto; to amend R.S. 6:41; to repeal certain specific laws and to repeal other conflicting laws; and to provide for the effective date of this act.

ACT No. 142  AN ACT To amend and reenact Article 257 of the Louisiana Civil Code, to permit a spouse who has been named curator for an interdicted spouse to name a tutorship by will.

ACT No. 157  AN ACT To amend and reenact Sections 421, 422, 424, 424.2, 425, 428, 429, 431, 432, 434 through 444, 446, 447, 448 and 450 through 459 of Subpart D of Chapter 1 of Title 56 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, relating to the control and regulation by the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission of bivalves and bivalve industries, to provide with respect to the use of dredges in removing oysters from natural reefs, the display of registration number by boats fishing oysters and the areas recognized as oyster seed reservations and otherwise to provide with respect to bivalves and bivalve industries; to change the word department to commission when used to designate the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission and the word commissioner to commission or "director" and to make certain other technical changes.

ACT No. 246  AN ACT To amend and reenact Section 2442 of Part III of Chapter 4 of Code Title II of Code Book III of Title 9 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950 relative to the statutory will.

ACT No. 247  AN ACT To amend and reenact Section 651 of Title 35 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, to provide that an attorney whose principal law office is in a parish other than the parish in which he is a resident, may qualify as a notary in either parish.

ACT No. 254  AN ACT To amend and reenact Section 4103 of Title 13 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, relative to executory process against mortgaged corporation property, to provide that a resolution of the board of directors authorizing the mortgage, certified by any assistant secretary may be used as authentic evidence; to require that a copy of this resolution be certified by either the notary before whom the act was passed, or the custodian of notarial acts for the parish of Orleans if recorded therein or the clerk of the district court of any parish where it is recorded.

ACT No. 406   AN ACT To amend and reenact Section 1444 of Title 33 and Section 2052 of Title 47 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, relative to the bonds of sheriffs as ex officio tax collectors, to provide that the sheriff as tax collector for the parish of East Baton Rouge and the city of Baton Rouge shall give a combination fidelity and faithful performance bond in the amount of three hundred thousand dollars, that the legislative auditor shall review the bonding requirements for the sheriff and tax collector of East Baton Rouge Parish and the city of Baton Rouge every four years and recommend appropriate amendments to this act relative to the amount of the bond or bonds required, that the proceeds of the forfeiture of the bond or bonds given by the sheriff of East Baton Rouge Parish be paid on a pro rata basis to the political subdivisions from whom the premiums were assessed, and deleting the requirement that the governor approve the bonds for the sheriff of East Baton Rouge Parish.

ACT No. 417  AN ACT To amend and reenact Title 8 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, to comprise R.S. 8:1 through R.S. 8:903, both inclusive, relative to cemeteries and their regulation; to create the Louisiana Cemetery Board and provide its powers, duties and functions; to establish guidelines and provide for rules and regulations dealing with publicly owned cemeteries and cemetery companies; and relative to the acquisition of property for cemeteries, cemetery sales and management practices, the cemetery care fund, the merchandise trust fund, mausoleums and similar structures, human remains, undeveloped land for cemetery use, title and rights to cemetery plots; to provide for licensure; to provide penalties and otherwise generally and specifically to provide with respect to cemeteries, the disposition of human remains and like matters.

ACT No. 418  AN ACT To authorize the Louisiana Health, and Social and Rehabilitation Services Administration, or its successor, to donate, transfer and convey certain immovable property located in Jefferson Parish to the state; to authorize the transfer of the surface use of said property to the Louisiana State Parks and Recreation Commission, to be used exclusively for the establishment of a state park area as authorized by Act No. 100 of 1966; and to provide with respect thereto.

ACT No. 437  AN ACT To amend and reenact Section 2488.27 of Title 13 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, relative to the salary of the judge of the city court of the city of Baker, to provide that said judge shall receive as salary in addition to salary payable by the city of Baker the sum of two hundred dollars payable by the state monthly on his own warrant.

ACT No. 526  AN ACT To amend and reenact Section 254 of Title 35 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950 relative to notaries public in Orleans Parish; to provide for the examination of applicants and the composition of the committee conducting such examination, to provide for requirements in order to issue a certificate and otherwise to provide with respect thereto. Notice of intention to apply for the passage of this Act has been published and evidence of such publication exhibited to the legislature, both as provided by Section 6 of Article IV of the constitution of Louisiana.

ACT No. 557  AN ACT To create and provide for a system of civil service for the municipal employees of the city of Zachary; to create and provide for the organization, powers, functions and duties of the Municipal Employees Civil Service Board of the city of Zachary and the director of personnel; to provide penalties for violations of this Act or any rule, regulation or order issued hereunder; to provide with regard to matters pertaining to said civil service system; and to provide for the effect of general statutes affecting municipal employees or municipal departments in matters of classified civil service for the city of Zachary. Notice of intention to apply for the passage of this Act has been published and evidence of such publication exhibited to the Legislature, both as provided by Section 6 of Article IV of the Constitution of Louisiana.

ACT No. 607  AN ACT To authorize the sale of certain real property located in the city of New Orleans, state of Louisiana, in the square bounded by Royal, St. Louis, Chartres and Conti Streets, and also in the square bounded by Conti, Chartres, St. Louis and Decatur Streets, by the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission, or its successor in office, to the city of New Orleans; and prescribing the terms and conditions of said conveyance; and to provide for the use of the proceeds of the sale by the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission.

ACT No. 621  AN ACT To amend and reenact Part II of Chapter 1, Title 29 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950 to adopt a system of laws to be known as the Louisiana Code of Military Justice; to repeal the Articles of War of the state of Louisiana, R.S. 23:42,* R.S. 23:43* through 60 and R. S. 23:69* and all other laws in conflict or inconsistent with the provisions of the code hereby adopted; to provide the effective date of this Act; and otherwise to provide with respect thereto.

ACT No. 651  AN ACT Relative to the Louisiana Stadium and Exposition District, to provide with respect to the membership, powers and duties of the governing board thereof; to ratify, validate and confirm certain contracts of the Louisiana Stadium and Exposition District; to provide with respect to the liability of the parties to such contracts; to specify that said district and its governing board shall be subject to the public contract laws of the state, and otherwise to provide with respect thereto.
