ACT No. 455 AN ACT To amend and reenact the Title and Sections 6, 8, 9 and 10 of Act 109 of the 1878 Regular Session as amended by Act 201 of the 1964 Regular Session, said Act 109 of 1878 being entitled "AN ACT To incorporate the town of Plaquemine; to determine the offices thereof and to define their powers and duties; to authorize the levy and to fix the amount of taxes to be levied by the authorities of said town, and to authorize and permit them to control the ferries and dykes within the limits of said town, and to repeal all laws or parts of laws in conflict herewith."; to abolish the mayor's court in the city of Plaquemine; to delete provisions for the collection and disposition of fines and the effect of copies of proceedings before the mayor's court; and to provide that the marshal or assistant marshal shall perform certain functions for the City Court of Plaquemine and for the justices of peace to act as committing magistrate in certain circumstances.

ACT No. 456 AN ACT To amend Chapter 7 of Title 13 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950 by adding thereto a new Part IX, containing sections designated as R.S. 13:2489.1-13:2489.3, to abolish the mayor's court in the city of Plaquemine in Iberville Parish, to create the City Court of Plaquemine and provide for filling the offices of judge and marshal; to provide for a clerk and other personnel; to provide for the court's powers, duties, and functions, including terms of office, jurisdiction, payment of salaries, collection and disposition of fines, forfeitures and costs, the applicability of laws governing city courts, effective dates, and to provide for construction of the Act.
