ACT No. 46 AN ACT To revise, amend, and reenact Book VIII of the Louisiana Code of Civil Procedure, by repealing Articles 4831 through 5002 thereof, providing with respect to trial courts of limited jurisdiction, and by enacting as a revision thereof and substitute therefor Articles 4831 through 5011; to provide with respect to jurisdiction of, procedure in, and appeals from courts of limited jurisdiction; to provide with respect to recusation of judges and appointment of judges ad hoc; to provide with respect to transfer of certain cases to district courts; to provide that introductory comments, and explanatory comments following articles herein, shall not be enactments of the legislature but are included only as informational and explanatory material; to provide for repeal of conflicting laws and specifically to repeal Section 1876 of Title 13 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950; to amend and reenact Subsection D of Section 5201, Subsection A of Section 5202, Section 5203, and Section 5211 of said Title 13, and Article 284 of the Louisiana Code of Civil Procedure, all relative to small claims procedures, to conform references to the appropriate articles as revised herein, and otherwise to provide with respect to all of the foregoing and to further provide that the introductory material, comments and headnotes shall not have the effect of law.

ACT No. 162 AN ACT To amend Title 33 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950 by adding two new Sections thereto to be designated as R.S. 33:2738.52 and R.S. 33:2738.53 to authorize the police jury of Rapides Parish to create a sales tax district within said parish and to levy a sales and use tax not exceeding one percent within the district provided the levy is approved by a majority of the qualified electors voting at an election provided for; to provide for the levy and collection of the tax within the district, to provide for recall sales and use tax elections and to provide further with respect thereto.

ACT No. 289 AN ACT To amend and reenact Article 30 of the Louisiana Code of Criminal Procedure relative to peace bonds, to provide that justice of the peace courts may order a peace bond of up to one thousand dollars.

ACT No. 700 AN ACT To amend Chapter 2 of Title 42 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, by adding thereto a new Part, to be designated as Part III thereof, to be comprised of R.S. 42:61 through R.S. 42:66, both inclusive, and to repeal Sections 31, 31.1, 33 and 38 of Title 42 and Section 137 of Title 14 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, all relative to dual officeholding and dual employment, to define and regulate dual employment and to define, regulate, and prohibit dual officeholding in state and local governments; to provide penalties for violations, and otherwise to provide with respect thereto.

ACT No. 727 AN ACT To amend and reenact Section 2 of Act 710 of the 1977 Regular Session of the Legislature, relative to the authority of a city court to establish small claims divisions, to delete the provisions excepting the parish of Terrebonne from the application of Part XVIII of Chapter 32 of Title 13 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950 in order to make the provisions of said Part XVIII applicable to the parish of Terrebonne, and to amend and reenact Paragraph (1) of Subsection A of Section 1872 of Title 13 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950 to provide with respect to city courts and the abolition and continuation of justice of the peace courts and offices of constable thereof in the parish of Terrebonne and the jurisdiction of said courts, and to provide for related matters.
