ACT No. 97. AN ACT
An Act to amend and re-enact Section 2 of Act 79 of 1930, entitled: "An Act fixing the salaries of the Chief Messenger and Messengers of the Criminal District Court of the Parish of Orleans".
ACT No. 108. AN ACT
Providing for an additional Judge of the Criminal District Court for the Parish of Orleans; providing for the payment of the salary of said judge; providing for his powers, duties, jurisdiction and qualifications; providing that the first Judge to preside over the additional section on said Court shall be appointed by the Governor to serve until December 31, 1948; providing for the term of office and election of his successor; providing for the appointment of a stenographer and minute clerk for said court and for their compensation; providing that the Criminal Sheriff for the Parish of Orleans shall assign a Deputy Sheriff to act as the Crier for said additional section of said Court and the necessary number of Deputy Sheriffs to act as Court Attaches.
ACT No. 109. AN ACT
To amend and re-enact the provisions of Sections 6, 7 and 9 of Act 114 of 1921 (E.S.) entitled: "An Act to organize the Criminal District Court for the Parish of Orleans as established by Article VII, Sections 82, 83, 84, and 85 and 86 of the Constitution of the State; to create a Board of Jury Commissioners for the Parish of Orleans; providing for the appointment of the same and the filling of vacancies therein; fixing the number of the Board; defining its duties, powers, and compensation; providing for the manner of drawing, selecting and empanelling Grand, petit, and tales jurors for the Parish of Orleans; providing for the division of the Criminal District Court for the Parish of Orleans into Sections; providing for an annual vacation for each of the Judges of said Court; providing for a presiding Judge of said Court; providing for the jury terms for each section of said Court; providing for the appointment of official stenographers and minute clerks of said Court and fixing their salaries; and that from and after the going into effect of this act, Acts No. 98 of 1880, No, 170 of 1894, No. 132 of 1898, No. 64 of 1912, and all laws and parts of laws in conflict herewith shall stand repealed, provided that the Grand Jury empanelled and sworn prior to the date at which this Act shall go into effect shall continue to serve until their successors shall have been empanelled and sworn under the provisions of this Act, and that the petit jurors drawn for service for the month of October, 1921, shall be empanelled and sworn under the provisions of Act 98 of 1880, and of the several Acts amendatory thereof; provided that the adoption of this Act shall not be taken or construed as vacating the office of the present Jury Commissioners of the Parish of Orleans, and provided further that all subsequent appointment of jury commissioners shall be made under this Act;" and to provide the conditions under which this amendatory Act shall become effective; and to repeal all laws or parts of laws in conflict herewith.
ACT No. 285. AN ACT
To amend Article 60 (Burglary in the Nighttime) of the Louisiana Criminal Code and to repeal Article 61 (Burglary in the Daytime), to the end that Article 60 will define "aggravated burglary" so as to cover both Burglary in the Nighttime and Burglary in the Daytime, and to repeal all laws or parts of laws in conflict herewith.
ACT No. 331. AN ACT
To amend and re-enact Article 98 of the Louisiana Criminal Code, relative to the operating of a vehicle while intoxicated.
ACT No. 416. AN ACT
To amend and re-enact the title and Sections 1, 2 and 20 of Act 14 of the Second Extra Session of 1934, as amended by Act 16 of the 1st Extra Session of 1935, Act 82 of 1938 and Act 6 of 1944, entitled "An Act defining Narcotic Drugs; providing for the regulation and control of the sale, possession, prescribing, dispensing, dealing in and distribution of, such narcotic drugs; making uniform the law relative thereto; and prescribing penalties for the violation of this said act;" and repealing all laws or parts of laws in conflict herewith.
