ACT No. 8 AN ACT
Providing for two additional Judges of the Criminal District Court for the Parish of Orleans; providing for the payment of the salaries of said Judges; providing for their powers, duties, jurisdiction and qualifications; providing for two additional sections of said Court over which said Judges shall preside; providing that the first Judge to preside over each of the additional sections of said Court shall be appointed by the Governor to serve until December 31, 1960 and providing for the term of office and election of each of their successors; providing for the appointment of a stenographer and minute clerk for each of said additional sections and for their compensation; providing that the Criminal Sheriff for the Parish of Orleans shall assign a Deputy Sheriff to act as crier for each of said additional sections of said Court and the necessary number of Deputy Sheriffs to act as Court Attaches; providing for the division of said Court into eight sections to integrate the two additional sections herein created and the quarters to be provided for each; providing for the division of jury terms amongst the various sections of said Court so as to include the sections herein created and prescribing the powers of the Judges in reference thereto, the order of presiding and the right of substitution; providing for the allotment of all cases pending in said Court equally amongst the various sections of the said Court; providing for the powers and duties of the newly created Judges with reference to grand juries and their inclusion in the order of sequence in relation thereto; providing a saving clause and to repeal all laws and parts of laws in conflict or inconsistent herewith.
ACT No. 34 AN ACT
To amend and re-enact Section 5 of Title 13 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950 relative to the provisions of pensions for the spouses of deceased judges and retired judges of courts of record of the State of Louisiana, and the payment thereof.

To amend and re-enact Section 1341 of Title 13 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, and Act No. 16 of 1952, relative to salaries payable to criminal district court judges for the Parish of Orleans.

To amend and re-enact Section 31 of Title 42 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950 to add a new paragraph to be designated as paragraph (5), to exempt law clerks and stenographers working with a court of record from the provisions against dual office holding.

To amend and re-enact Section 137 of Title 14 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950 by adding thereto a new paragraph to be designated as paragraph (5), to exempt law clerks and stenographers working with a court of record from the provisions against dual office holding.
