A Brief History of the Orleans Criminal District Court: 1979

ACT No. 236   AN ACT
To amend and reenact Section 4 of Title 3; Sections 102 and 311, Subsections A and B of Section 351, Subsections A and B of Section 691, Section 966.1, Subsection J of Section 1171, Subsection A of Section 1347, Section 1373.1, Subsection E of Section 1874, Paragraph (10) of Section 1875, Subsection A of Section 2152, and Section 2563.5 of Title 13; Subsection D of Section 21 of Title 17; Subsection C of Section 17, Subsections A and B of Section 55, and Paragraphs (3)(a) and (3)(b) of Section 59 of Title 18; Subsection A of Section 2 of Title 22; Sections 201, 202, 221, 256, and 302 of Title 49; and Subsection A of Section 2002, Subsection A of Section 2218.2, and Section 2218.8 of Title 33; and to amend Section 1347 of Title 13 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, by adding thereto two new Subsections, to be designated as Subsections E and F thereof, all of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950 and relative to salaries, to provide a salary adjustment for designated public employees and officials and to provide for related matters.

ACT No. 602        AN ACT
To amend and reenact Section 1371.1 of Title 13 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, relative to the clerk of the Criminal
District Court for the Parish of Orleans, to increase the additional salary of said clerk to thirty-five thousand dollars, to authorize further salary increases based on the official pay plan for the city of New Orleans, and otherwise to provide with respect thereto.

ACT No. 724      AN ACT
To amend Section 1347 of Title 13 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950 by adding thereto a new Subsection, to be designated as Subsection E thereof, relative to the commissioners of the magistrate section of the Criminal District Court for the Parish of Orleans, to provide that said commissioners may not practice law before said court, and otherwise to provide with respect thereto.
